Namibia Wildlife Resorts has announced the extension of the temporary closure of the Fish River Hiking Trail route. The water level in Fish River is gradually decreasing, but it is still too high, so the trail is not yet ready for safe hiking.

The administration is monitoring the hydrological situation together with the Namibian Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. Updated information on the possible timing of the route's opening is planned to be published within the next week, when more accurate data from the scene becomes available.
