Sentiero degli Dei: 77-year-old lifted by helicopter

SorrentoPress and SalernoToday report that on the afternoon of 2 October 2026, near marker mattonella 10 on the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods between the Monti Lattari and the Amalfi coast), a 77-year-old tourist from Turin province was badly hurt in a fall.

Salerno’s 118 ops centre, given the nature of the incident, sent the HEMS helicopter from Salerno and activated CNSAS Campania. The medical crew reached the woman in a complex clinical condition and stabilised her on site.

A ground team from Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico then helped with the technical recovery on difficult terrain. She was winched aboard and flown to San Giovanni di Dio e Ruggi d’Aragona hospital in Salerno.
