Monte Miletto: four hikers lifted by helicopter

L'Eco Alto Molise and TermoliOnLine report that on 11 October 2026 four young hikers lost the path on Monte Miletto, on the Roccamandolfi side at about 1,750 m near Campitello Matese (Isernia province, Molise).

Around 15:45–16:00 the 118 / NUE 112 system was alerted. Firefighters from Isernia drove two vehicles to the Campitello Matese plateau and began searching with coordinates from the group. At the same time they called in the Salerno helicopter unit — Drago 161.

From the air the crew located all four and flew them to the plateau, where ground teams were waiting. A Soccorso Alpino doctor checked them: all were in good condition. The operation closed with coordinated work by Vigili del Fuoco, the flight crew and CNSAS.
