Carian Trail

The Carian Trail (Karia Yolu) is Turkey's longest waymarked footpath, over 800 km winding along and through ancient Caria in the country's southwest. It was mapped by Kate Clow, the same author as the Lycian Way, and the handwriting shows: stony paths above turquoise bays, ruins of antique cities and villages where time runs slower. The most striking sections follow the Datca and Bozburun peninsulas, where pine slopes drop straight to the sea and hide Knidos, the fortress of Loryma and fishing hamlets like Selimiye and Bozburun.
