The Lycian Way on Google Maps
We've plotted the route with marked landmarks on interactive Google Maps - handy to view on your phone or save for later. The whole trail is usually split into three parts, each a self-contained hike:
- The entire Lycian Way - the full route from Antalya to Ölüdeniz with the key points.
- Western and central part (Fethiye → Finike): turquoise bays, Ölüdeniz, the Butterfly Valley, ancient ruins. Tours - Western Lycian Way and the central section.
- Eastern part (Olympos → Antalya): the summit of Tahtalı (2365 m), the eternal flames of the Chimaera, Çıralı beach. Tour - Eastern Lycian Way.

Offline maps
Mobile coverage in the Taurus mountains is unreliable, so there is one main rule: download the region's offline maps in advance, while you have Wi-Fi, and do not count on the internet on the trail. Any OpenStreetMap-based app will do - Organic Maps, maps.me, OSMAND. The difference between them is purely cosmetic (same map data, just different styling), so pick whichever you are used to.
But the map alone is only half the job. Walking "by the map" without a track is awkward: at junctions it is hard to tell whether you are still on course. So download the track - ours (in the block above) or any other, as long as you have one to show where the main line of the route runs.
Paper maps?
Honestly, not worth the effort. The official maps by Kate Clow (the trail's author) have a weak cartographic base, low detail and print quality, and you cannot even buy them separately - only bundled with the guidebook, a heavy book there is no point carrying along the route. The Turkish "quasi-military" maps we saw in tourist shops also lose to plain OpenStreetMap. Things may have changed since then - if you have fresher information, drop us a line, we are genuinely curious.
