If you have a multi-fuel burner, then it is more profitable to take liter of purified gasoline (aka “galosh” or white gas), which is available at the campsite costs 2700 ISK. But if time allows you, you can visit There are several more retail outlets where there is a chance to find gas cheaper.
By the way, the cheapest gas, oddly enough, can also be produced in the city camping in Reykjavik. Next to the kitchen there is a special shelf for FREE gas. When tourists fly home, they leave on this shelf unused cylinders and if you're lucky, you can find a couple of them here completely empty cans. Don’t think that there will be such a ball all the time - from all shelters and campsites on the track Laugavegur only in Landmannalaugar there is a real chance to make money started cylinders.
