Important! On trekking routes, where food arrives exclusively on the backs of porters, prices are much higher. So in Namche Bazaar, a pack of oatmeal cookies costs not 250 but 500 rupees. And 100 rupees for a bottle of water on the track is a more than reasonable price. For more information about food prices on the track (primarily in the lodge canteens), read here.
