One Street Museum

This fascinating little museum near the bottom of Andriivskyi Descent tells the rich history of this important street through the years. Special attention is paid to recreating the atmosphere of this thoroughfare during the turn of the 20th century. Fans of former Soviet Premier and Ukrainian-born Leonid Brezhnev - he of enormous eyebrow fame - were in for a special treat in the mid-2000s: there was then a special exhibition devoted to him on loan from his hometown, then Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske), through July 31. Mid-2000s guides listed opening hours roughly 12:00-18:00, closed Mondays, admission about 3 UAH; check current hours, tickets, and access on site. Address: Andriivskyi Descent, 2B, Kyiv (tel. from period guides: 425 03 98).
