Drahobrat - skiing resort complex

Drahobrat - skiing resort complex

This is probably the most exotic and extreme place in the entire Ukraine. This is a good trip for those who really love nature, sports, good company, isolation.
Still the wild nature successfully combines with the good service. So, here we go:

Drahobrat is the highest alpine ski resort in Ukraine. It is located at about 1400 m above sea level on the joint of the coniferous forests and the alpine zone near the foot of Mount Stih (1707 m above sea level) and the Blyznytsia mountain massif (1883 m above sea level).

The horseshoe shape of the mountains of the Svydovets range creates the unique natural phenomenon of the Drahobrat natural complex - it provides stable snow cover from November to May inclusive. For several decades until the mid-2000s there was almost always a significant snow layer on Drahobrat even in the warmest winters.

Structure of the complex.

Complex has a 24-hours solid cold and hot water supply and canalization, cable system of satellite TV. There is a premise for keeping and drying of the mountain skiing equipment.
There is an open cafe on the lowest station of the towrope trace.
There is skiing equipment for hire.
In the mid-2000s Drahobrat was described as a winter complex in Ukraine where the snow layer is guaranteed and doesn't require snow cannons.
Trail grooming was described as the work of two heavy ratraks produced by Leitner (Austria) and the Lviv Sportmash enterprise. With the help of ratraks skiers and snowboarders were brought up to the mountain heights, which allowed increasing the trail length to 3 and more kilometers.

Summer tours.

The zest of Drahobrat is skiing on the summer snow spots. Only here you can get the winter enjoyment in summer.
Virgin nature on the joint of coniferous forests and alpine zone and the huge amount of mushrooms and berries will give you the unforgettable moments. In summer Drahobrat proposes different types of rest.
You can spend an evening with a shashlik near the fire, to participate in the interesting tour to the mountain rivers and lakes, to see with your own eyes the tops of Stih and Zhandarmy mountains.

Accommodation complex.

In the mid-2000s one of the complexes included a hotel building with 33 rooms with all amenities: 24 single, 8 triple and 1 quadruple. There was also a European-style restaurant with a bar and billiards. The complex had cottages of different levels, including luxury ones made exclusively of wood, a wooden sauna, home Ukrainian cuisine from the cottage owners - dishes from mushrooms growing nearby, jam of local berries, locally made fruit liqueurs. The hosts offered a warm homelike atmosphere, a fireplace and comfort.
Kolyba is a special sight of western Ukraine. It is a Ukrainian restaurant of distinctive design.
