Spring Akinak
The Akinak spring is located 3.3 km to the West from the village of Lesnoye. On this section 196, the tourist route is a well-trodden dirt road, slowly gaining height towards Mount Koshka (Chatal Kaya). After the next ascent, the road flattens out and literally a few meters from its track you can see the damming.
The water was “caught in a pipe” on the south side of the road and passed under roadway, and were released on the north side. From small concrete storage tank (covered with a pot lid) water falls into a small trough. The jet, by Crimean standards, is quite normal. The spring, apparently, does not dry out (there is a dense forest around). They drank raw water without any consequences. Near the source there is a small area with a fire pit.
GPS coordinates of the spring: 44°55.902′ N 34°54.883′ E WGS-84 492m a.s.l.
On the standard tourist 500-meter course "Across the mountainous Crimea" a spring not designated. But he is on the General Staff kilometer. True, the spring is not signed there. The fact that it is called “Akinak”, I don’t too confident. The only reason to call it that is metal sign - "Akinak 400m", screwed to a tree several hundred meters east of the spring.
By the way, short Scythian swords were called akinaki.
