FAQFrequently asked questions
What is Turkul and what is its height?
This is a mountain with a height of 1,933 meters in the Chornohora massif, the Ukrainian Carpathians. The top is triangular, from the east it is complicated by stepped protrusions - it does not look boring at all.
Where exactly is it located?
On the border of the Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions, between the peaks of Dantsyr (1850 m) in the north and Rebra (2001 m) in the southeast.
How to get there?
Several marked trails pass through the mountain - green, red, yellow, blue. The nearest starting points are the villages of Bystrets in Prykarpattia and Hoverla in Transcarpathia, and the journey itself takes from one to seven hours depending on the route.
What is interesting to see nearby?
Under the peak lies Lake Nesamovyte - one of the most famous mountain lakes of Montenegro. From the east and north, glacial cirques have been preserved, and on the southern slopes - stone outcrops and sediments.
What grows on slopes?
At the top - alpine meadows, below are thickets of mountain pine (lot) and Siberian juniper. It's nice, but you can't climb straight through the lot - stick to the path.
